The Ventura College Promise
Ventura College is the home of the Ventura College Promise, the largest grant program of its kind in the nation at a community college. Supported by the Ventura College Foundation, all students who graduate from a Ventura County High School or earn their GED in the County, may qualify for three semesters of enrollment fees - as many units as they would like to enroll for during those semesters, with no limit on number of units or GPA - if they start the fall after they complete their high school diploma, GED or diploma without exit exam passage. The family income limit on the program is about $85,000, but all students considering attending Ventura College are strongly encouraged to apply for the Promise grant program. More than 3,000 students have received the Ventura College Promise in the less than three years the program has been in existence, and the first 75 graduated from Ventura College this May. Students who are enrolled in the Promise program enroll in more units, complete more units, complete more semesters, and return to school for their second year at a substantially higher rate than their non-Promise counterparts.Student body profile
