Velpur is known for its agricultural & dairy production. This has a significant name in the complete mandal.

This village can provide most things, but is notable for having 120 temples. The village god of velpur is mahalakshmi. There are many school for students till 10th class. Good teaching also providing the Z.P.H.SCHOOL of velpur. The population of this village is more when compared to the other villages in Andhrapradesh.
