and also known as Nitra transmitter. It was inaugurated in 1949 and is used for mediumwave and shortwave broadcasting. For mediumwave broadcasting a 140 metres tall guyed mast is used. Until 2003 it transmitted in the mediumwave band on 1098 kHz with omnidirectional radiation, today the radiated power may be only 50 kilowatts.
