Vanaprasta landed a residency at The Echo
in September 2010.
Since then, they have opened for Young The Giant
and Deep Dark Robot
. After playing multiple showcases at SXSW in March 2011, they went on to perform on the West Coast Rumble Tour presented by Future Sounds.
The band impressed audiences at CMJ in October 2011, and on November 1st, Vanaprasta released its debut full-length Healthy Geometry to critical acclaim. Produced by Dave Schiffman, the album was recorded live with minimal overdubs. They are celebrating the release with a November residency at The Satellite
(formerly Spaceland
) in Silver Lake
. Also in November, Vanaprasta was named "Pick of the Month" by BMI
, and Healthy Geometry was featured as "New and Noteworthy" on iTunes

History
Vanaprasta was formed in 2009, and the quintet's debut EP Forming The Shapes was released a year later. Lead single "Color of Sin" was featured on the Download to Donate for Haiti compilation presented by Music For Relief and Causecast in February 2011.
