. The V24 was designed by Ocke Mannerfeld, and is called V24 not for the engine configuration, which is a V8 by Volvo Penta

(5.7ltr GXi), but for the length of the hull, which is 24 feet (7.3 m) long, and is a 'V' bottomed hull. The V24s race primarily in Sweden, Norway and England, although they also race in the USA.

Interesting note: the actual length of the V24 is 22.5 feet (6.9 m), but V22 does not sound as good as V24...
