. Although many of the players are students, or former students it is not compulsory to be so, in order to play for the cricket club.
The Tasmania University Cricket Club was founded in 1898, just 8 years after the University itself was founded. Despite being founded over 60 years earlier, TUCC did not get accepted into TCA competitions until the 1960-61 season.
TUCC have won 6 TCA Premierships, including back to back wins in 1985-86 and 1986-87.

TUCC competes in the TCA competition on Saturdays and Sundays from October to March. We have senior teams in 1st Grade, 2nd Grade and 3rd Grade and junior teams including U17, U15, U13, Twilight (Grade 3-5) and Milo in2Cricket. The competition consists of a mix of 2-day, 1-day and T20 matches and we would welcome new players to join the club.

TUCC looks to develop all its players to play their best cricket. There are four elements that our coaches focus on including: Fitness, Knowledge, Skills and Attitude. Cricket is a game of patience and temperament which is why we try to develop more than just skill. If you are interested in developing your cricket and having some fun along the way TUCC might be the club for you.
