The University of Sharjah
is a semi-governmental higher educational institution. Its founder, Supreme President and Chairman is the Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al-Qasimi
himself. Founded 1997, the University of Sharjah aims to meet the Emirate of Sharjah's educational and cultural needs within its Islamic values and tradition. Its vision is to become a leading academic institution in the Middle East and be well recognized around the world. The university is divided into two campuses — a men's campus and a women's campus.
