, formed in 1990 by merging Andelsbanken, Sparekassen SDS and Privatbanken. At that time it was the second biggest Danish bank.

The parent company of Unibank, Unidanmark, merged in March 1999 with Tryg-Baltica (at that time Denmark's biggest insurance company and the second biggest in Norway). In March 2000 Unidanmark merged with MeritaNordbanken, which was formed a couple of years earlier by merging Merita Bank and Swedish Nordbanken. The resulting company was named Nordic Baltic Holding, but changed name in October 2000 to the current Nordea
