 which will be sold to supermarket chain Sainsbury's. The sale of the Memorial Ground will partially fund the project. Therefore any move to the stadium would be dependent on planning permission for both the supermarket and the new stadium.

 chairman Nick Higgs unveiled plans to build a 20,000 all seater stadium. It will become the only 20,000 capacity stadium within a university campus in the UK.

Subject to the outcome of the planning permission, It is possible that work could begin on the new stadium could start in early 2012, and Bristol Rovers hopes to be playing in the stadium during the 2013/14 season.

Facilities

The purposed stadium will be bowl design, and will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and will contain a large car park with space for 1,270 cars and coaches.

Stadium Facilities:
Consultations are still ongoing, so a formal list of facilities that will be included in the stadium is not yet finalised. Potentially included in the new complex will be:
  • Banqueting and hospitality suite
  • Club shop
  • Supporter’s club bar
  • Convenience store
  • Crèche
  • Jogging track
  • Public Gym
