. CNR is the self-proclaimed college of "human welfare and the environment." It has four departments: Agricultural and Resource Economics, Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, Nutritional Science & Toxicology, and Plant and Microbial Biology

. The departments teach on both the undergraduate and graduate level, conferring a wide range of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. CNR is also home to a variety of research centers and facilities conducting inquiries into topics relevant to the four departments.

Departments

Agricultural and Resource Economics focuses on sustainable agriculture policy, developing nations' use and misuse of land, macro- and microeconomic consequences of trade freedoms, among other topics. The faculty is about thirty strong. ARE offers one undergraduate major, Environmental Economics and Policy. It also offers a doctorate in Agricultural and Resource Economics.

Environmental Science, Policy & Management is CNR's largest department. It comprises three divisions: Ecosystems Sciences, Organisms and Environment, and Society and Environment. Topics of research in ESPM include climate-change related sciences, conservation biology, insect biology, and the human relationship to the environment. It offers four undergraduate programs: Molecular Environmental Biology, Forestry and Natural Resources, Conservation and Resource Studies, and Society and Environment.

Nutritional Sciences & Toxicology's faculty research the positive and negative effects of human consumption. The department offers bachelor's degrees in Physiology and Metabolism, Dietetics and Molecular Toxicology. It also offers a doctorate in Molecular and Biochemical Nutrition and Molecular Toxicology.
