Servants to the Government of Pakistan, it refers to all those serving officials either civil or military, who perform their duties while subordinate to their outfits in Federal/Provincial/District Government. Recruitment in services is carried out irrespective of the gender, ethnic, racial, sectarian distinction. Moreover, vacancies to staff members in any field/department/organization/ministry is alloted after the formal decision of the legislators in respective parliament / government and each of the outfit has its authorized strength and allocated equipment specifiaed for official task and job. Recruitment both at tier and occupation in service and group vary commensurating with qualification. All services are organized in hierarical order and officials serving theirin are categorised in various grades/ranks/brackets/groups for the sake of smooth, transparent and meticulous execution of task and are paid accordingly. Normaly services for officials are classified into four categories. They include following:-

Grade 1 to grade 4 Labour workers

Note for Consideration

Pay emoulements, allowances, pensions and all perks and privilages of government serving/retired servants not only vary with the status, rank, appointment and service but also with their affiliated services. For example:- An officer holding the appointment of additional secretary in Federal Government is of grade 21. However, the appointment when being held by incumbent in Provincial Government will of grade 19. So, appointment also vary in scale depending on the affiliated services of individual.

    Problems of Government Servants in Pakistan

    Few of the problems faced by Government Servant in Pakistan are mentioned below:
    • Conveyance allowance is meagre comparing with the price hikes in Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants.
    • Adhoc allowances not yet adjusted in Basic Pay.
    • Tax deduction only implemented on Government Servants, feudals and land lords are exempted.
