Tyco Federal Credit Union was founded in 1971 as Raychem Employees' Federal Credit Union by employees of Raychem

 Corporation. Tyco International acquired Raychem and AMP then merged the two companies to form Tyco Electronics Group in 1999. In that same year, Raychem Federal Credit Union was renamed as Tyco Electronics Federal Credit Union to serve all US based employees of the newly formed Tyco Electronics
