Turkey has won more medals in wrestling than in any other sport, and, while the wrestlers were overshadowed somewhat by the success of the weightlifters, they managed three medals, one in freestyle and two in Greco-Roman. Overall the freestyle wrestlers had an 8-9 record, with two of the six wrestlers progressing beyond pool play.
