, In April 2008 Truronian was taken over by First Group PLC. Truronian local bus service has now merged with First Devon and Cornwall's bus operations. Truronian still operates the holiday and private hire businesses alongside First Devon and Cornwall. Since it was taken over the holiday and private hire business is managed by their General Manager, Robbie Lamerton who has been employed by First since 1998. In March 2011 Robbie Lamerton was promoted to General Manager Devon Operations and still oversees the Truronian Holiday business along side Debs Hart, Truronian Holiday Supervisor. In June 2011 it was announced that the holiday unit will be wound down and cease operating on 1 November 2011.
Truronian Holidays operated UK and Continental holidays throughout the year using executive coaches and fully trained drivers. http://www.truronianholidays.com, two brochures are produced each year, summer and winter. Truronian Private Hire operates tours, excursions, day trips within the UK and Europe for schools, social clubs, groups and individuals using everything from 48 Executive coaches to Open Top Double Decks to 16 sear minibuses. The company was formed in 1987 following the acquisition of small coaching and private-hire businesses. Truronian had continued to expand in recent years following awards of tenders from Cornwall County Council
