It was established on 19 February 1921 as the mouthpiece for the Soviet Labor Unions. It emphasized labor and economic analyses and included other official decrees and orders. By 1990, it attracted the world's largest circulation (21,500,000), a fact inscribed in the Guinness Book of Records. After the break-up of the Soviet Union
