praised the production saying, "The sinister, bass-heavy track is the ideal backdrop for verses in which both rappers go into full-on supervillain mode, reveling in nihilistic one-liners and the menacing sound of their own voices." Tom Breihan of Pitchfork Media
wrote his review also praising the production claiming "His (Tyler, The Creator) chief attribute is his demonic gargle of a voice; his chief detriment is his constant reliance on laughably vivid playground taunts. Here, he's reduced to supporting player, backing up a ferociously locked-in Pusha. Pusha, for his part, seems determined to erase the flat, directionless mixtape Fear of God from memory. He doesn't say much, but he sounds absolutely cold doing it. And the real star, perhaps unsurprisingly, turns out to be the Neptunes' hard-as-fuck beat, a callback to a time when they still kept their Tritons set on "kill."" DJ Booth.net stated the song is a cross-generational collab well worth its prodigious online buzz.
