drama film about a group of teenage girls playing a game of challenging dares. As they progress, they uncover the truth behind a former student's suicide.

Plot

In a flashback, a group of girls are at camp playing "Triple Dog", a game of dares. Chapin Wright (Britt Robertson) triple dog dares Stacy St. Clair to jump off the Jogger Bridge. Not knowing about the current, Stacy jumps and drowns.

Back in the present, no one knows the truth about Stacy's death except the girls at the camp. Eve (Alexia Fast) is having a sleepover for her 16th birthday. Nina (Carly McKillip), Sarah (Emily Tennant), Cecily (Janel Parrish), Liza (Scout Taylor-Compton), and Chapin are all invited. Things are tense between Chapin and Liza due to a fight they had days earlier, and won't be "down" until Liza apologizes - which Liza refuses to do. As the evening progresses, Chapin complains about being bored, since the girls "dont drink, don't smoke or screw," which prompts Eve to ask her what she wants to do. Chapin suggests the game Triple Dog. She explains how to play and the rules. The basic rule is that anyone who refuses their dare must have their head shaved. The girls are reluctant to play but eventually everyone piles in their money and prized possessions and the game begins. Sarah is up first since "she doesn't want to play," and picks Liza (who is also known as Rat Girl for carring a rat around in her backpack), to dare her but asks her to "be nice". Without hesitating, Liza triple dog dares Sarah to streak. She reluctantly does so as the rest of the girls follow behind, recording her. Sarah comes back to Eve's house, crying and embarrassed, having been seen by several teenage boys and other people as well as terrified she will end up on YouTube due to being recorded by teenage boys. Next up, Nina dares Liza to stay in Eve's brother's closet until midnight, wearing a cheerleading uniform. Liza tries to run from it, but knowing that if she does not do the dare, she will get shaved. The girls put her in the closet and close the door with Chapin taunting that she should have apologized since "karma's a bitch." Liza must send a photo of herself in the closet every half hour to verify that she is still in there. As the night goes on, other dares take place including Nina faking a seizure at a restaurant, Cecily peeing on the front porch of their principal's house, and Chapin stealing items from a store with security around.

As they all succeed, the last dare goes to Eve. Sarah triple dog dares her to go to third base with Whisper (Brett Davern), a boy she likes. The girls drive to a party where they see Whisper. Eve dances with him romantically and they go downstairs into a room as the girls follow and record them. But as Eve is unzipping Whisper's pants, he stops her and confesses to her that he's interested in Chapin, not her. Having suspected this, Eve gets up and storms out of the room. Chapin goes to Whisper and tries to convince him to hook up with Eve by kissing him. She tells him that it's a dare and that she doesn't want her best friend getting her head shaved. Whisper then brings up what happened to Stacy St. Claire at camp and tells Chapin it wasn't her fault. Chapin gets angry and leaves him. Mallory Silvers (Aubrey Mozino), who was there when Stacy jumped off the bridge, tells Eve the truth about Stacy's "suicide", which is that the girls were playing Triple Dog themselves and Stacy picked Chapin to dare her and to "make it good," which lead Chapin to daring her to jump.

Chapin panics because of the truth coming out and flees to Jogger Bridge with everyone following her. She stands on top of the bridge, and looks over to everyone. Eve desperately demands her not to do it, but Chapin immediately jumps off with tears in her eyes. No one sees her come out of the water. Everyone panics, fearing that Chapin has suffered the same fate at Stacy. They look for her on the shore as Eve starts freaking out. Chapin eventually comes out of the water, safe and relaxed. Eve gets furious at her when Chapin laughs at the whole ordeal saying she "thought the fun was just getting started." But Chapin quickly begins sobbing and blaming herself for Stacy's death. Eve calms down and tells her that it was an accident. Sarah, Nina, Cecily, Liza, Chapin, and Eve meet up again. Eve's father has been away for a while and since has not called and Eve waits throughout the movie for him to do so and decides to call him herself, only to get yelled at. After literally screaming out her frustrations, she abruptly decides to have her head shaved, in accordance with "the rules". Chapin insists she doesn't have to do it, but Eve is firm in her decision. After Eve gets shaved, the girls go home. The film ends with Chapin looking down at the Jogger Bridge and leaving, finally accepting the truth.
