Tremembé Teremembé is an extinct

. It was originally spoken by the Tremembé people
, who once inhabited the northern Brazilian coasts from Pará
to Ceará
. The Tremembé were described as a "Tapuia" tribe - that is, not part of the dominant Tupi–Guarani groups of the coasts. Nonetheless, it is likely they borowed a lot of Tupi words from interaction with their Tupi neighbors.
