The electrical transmission company Transend Networks Pty Ltd was formed by the disaggregation of the Hydro Electric Commission in Tasmania

(NEM) which took place on 1 May 2005. Market entry allows Basslink
, a Market Network Service Provider, to connect Tasmania to the National electricity grid on the Australian mainland. Basslink commissioning was completed in June, 2006.
Transend Networks is a regulated
