exchange and the first competitor to Japan based Mt Gox. Founded by Jered Kenna and launched on June 8th of 2011. TradeHill also has offices in Chile and partners in multiple countries such as Australia.

2 weeks after TradeHill's launch rival Bitcoin exchange Mt Gox was hacked shaking confidence in the exchange and sacrificing 10% of their volume to TradeHill and causing the Electronic Frontier Foundation
to cease accepting Bitcoin donations. TradeHill is currently responsible for approximately 10% of Bitcoins exchanged daily compared to Mt Gox's 77%.
