His first band was with his father. It was called the Grijalva Brothers.
It started out when he was seven and wanted to play in Little League Baseball. Childhood illness struck and he couldn't play in the season. He then wanted to play drums, but decided that guitar would do better because then he could play in his father's band, the Grijalva Brothers.

He had a few guitar instructors when he was little and he was told by one of them that he would have a hard time playing because his fingers were too small. He would practice until his fingers hurt.

Tracy G played in his father's band but eventually grew out of it.

He would play in a variety of bands including with future member of Great White Jack Russell. He also put together the bands Love Hate and Swift Kick. He would play at almost any club.

Tracy then joined Dio. In his six years with Dio

Currently, Tracy G is in the band Goaded. They have released two albums and Tracy has released numerous of his own band's albums as well.
