After just one season with Vålerenga, he moved back to former club Mandalskameratene in 2005, who plays in Adeccoligaen
, the second tier in Norway. This was not a good season for Mandalskameratene as they just got relegated, but Hamre was their top scorer with 7 goals.
The following season he spent half the season in Norwegian Second Division, where he scored 4 goals in 12 games. During that stay, Mandalskameratene surprisingly beat Premier Division side Odd Grenland out of the Norwegian Cup
by 4-1 with Hamre knocking in two goals. His last game for the club was in the fourth round against giants Rosenborg where they lost 1-0 due to a late goal. Hamre was actually joint top-scorer in the Norwegian Cup alongside Roman Kienast
with 7 goals. He then joined Herfølge
