Career
Tom Dillmann his the son of a retired racing driver, mechanic and team manager Gerard Dillmann. He started his career by winning the regional Alsace soap box championship in 1999.He raced go-kart from 2000 to 2002 in minime and junior class with a regional title and a 4th place in the French championship.
In 2003 at the age of 14 Tom tested in a prototype maid by his father. He drove the car powered by a motorbike engine on circuit and ice.
Single seater
In 2004 at the age of 15, Tom Dillmann entered the Formula Renault 1.6 Belgium.
In a family team run by his father, he finished 5th in the championship with a victory in Spa and three podiums.
Tom moved to the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0

The first half of the season was slowed down by a left foot injury after a 4th place in Zolder.
Tom took his first podium in Misano and finished the year strongly. He won his first race in Le Mans in the French championship before an other victory from pole in Magny-Cours and two second places in the Eurocup final in Barcelona behind the champion Filipe Albuquerque

He impressed in the pre-season but a crash in Nogaro had big consequences. He suffered a broken sternum and vertebra.
Tom was back two months later for the second meeting of the season in Brands Hatch and a few weeks later on the Norisring he took his first podium in Formula 3.
He finished his rookie season 9th in the championship with ups and downs including a fourth place in Zandvoort and two podiums in Barcelona.
At the beginning of 2008 Tom became the rookie and reserve driver of A1 Grand Prix

In 2008 Redbull decided to place Dillmann in his former team in Formula Renault but newcomer in Formula 3, SG Formula. After three unsuccessful meetings, he is fired of the program for not having found the part of budget asked by RedBull.
A life after Redbull
Tom raced again with Swiss team Jo Zeller racing two months later on the Nürburgring. This come back in Formula 3 Euroseries was a great revenge as he took a podium and a fifth place beating all the RedBull drivers.
He finished the year in Italian Formula 3 with the team Europa Corse, offering them 4 podiums in 6 starts.
It's a difficult time for Tom without any sponsors.
HBR Motorsport in need of quick and developing driver brought him back on a Formula 3 Euroseries grid in June 2009.
He finished the season in the German Formula 3
