Tiny Tower
Encyclopedia
Tiny Tower is a game developed by NimbleBit in June 2011 for iOS devices. It requires iOS 3.0 or later to run. The main aim of the game is to build a tower, and manage all of the establishments on different floors, and the residents (called Bitizens, a play on the word citizen) who live within the tower. The player's role is to manage the stock of the businesses and Bitizens of the building, whilst strategically expanding and making a profit in the form of coins, which are earned by the purchase of stock and the rent from Bitizens. Tiny Tower is played in real-time, with game progression occurring even when the app is closed. Other tasks include delivering characters to specified floors, finding a specific Bitizen within the tower, or the arrival of various VIP's, each of which gives a specific bonus to the player.

Players can also use Tower Bux to help speed up stocking, the construction of floors, and moving new Bitizens in. These Bux can also be used for permanent upgrades, such as faster elevators and increases in maximum stock levels of different floors. Tower Bux can be obtained through in-app purchases, though players can earn them by doing various tasks.
Tiny Tower was ranked 35 out of all free apps in the App Store as of 28 July 2011. Tiny Tower also sold an impressive 1 million times in the first four days after its release, one of the highest ever sales in the first week after release.

It features a Bitbook, a spoof of Facebook, and has real-life posts by the Bitizens living in your tower. These posts, however, are automatically generated, and the player can not interact with them.
