Kirkby has his own production company, Cryptic Colouration Ltd, based in London, UK, through which he has made several films, including "The Legacy of Victor Ferns" and The Blind Spot. The latter is, which was completed in 2003, is a meta-physical, thriller feature film set in Brighton, which he wrote, produced and directed. It won best screenplay at the Milan Film Festival 2003.
