History

Tianjin Normal University was established August 1, 1958. Originally called Tianjin Normal College 天津师范学院, it was renamed in 1982. April 8, 1999 Tianjin Municipal Committee, City Hall and Ministry of Education agreed to establish a new Tianjin Normal University Campus. In 2008 Tianjin Normal University celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Tianjin Normal University's Xi Qing Campus is situated on West Bin Shui Avenue 宾水西道。 Currently hosting 23 colleges and 50 research organisations and 87 undergraduate departments. 20,540 Full time students currently study at Tianjin Normal University.
