Threlfall's Brewery Co Ltd was a brewery
company having breweries in Liverpool
and Salford. It was active between 1861 and 1961.
on Cook Street in Salford and built the Salford brewery. It merged with Chesters in 1961 operating from the Cook St site as Chester's and Threlfall's brewery. Whitbread
took over the entire Threlfall's Group in 1967, including the Moorhouses
soft drinks company, and the Salford site became surplus to requirement in 1999. The brewery's Head Office, main brewery and bottling plant was based in Trueman Street in Liverpool, and it also was closed down by Whitbread at an earlier date. At the time of the 1967 takeover Threlfall's was the 8th largest brewery in the UK, and the largest to be based in North West England
. The takeover raised Whitbread, a predominantly southern based business, to be the second largest brewery in the United Kingdom

Current uses of former premises
The Salford building is now the Deva Centre, an urban business village. It is grade II listed. The Liverpool buildings have been partly demolished and replaced with apartments, with the Head Office building turned in to small office units. The brewery's 100 or so public houses and hotels covered the North West of England with a few in North WalesNorth Wales
