, and the third and youngest son of Admiral Sir Thomas Hope Troubridge (d. 1949). The present baronet, Sir Thomas Troubridge, 7th Baronet, is his nephew.

Troubridge is claimed by some sites to be the son of Sir Peter Troubridge, 6th Baronet

(actually his oldest brother), but other sites produced by genealogists show him as the third son of Admiral Sir Thomas Hope Troubridge and his wife Lily Kleinwort.
