. Thomas L. Kennedy Secondary School first opened its doors to approximately four hundred and fifty students in September 1953.

The school has an extensive extracurricular program, including many athletic and sports teams. The school has successful basketball and cricket teams.

On September 21, 2009, at around 9:50 am a 17 year old male student was stabbed in the arm, initiating a school wide lock-down and tactical police to be called in. The lock-down lasted about 3 hours and was lifted at around 12:50 pm.
