Thomas John Miller (born August 11, 1944) is an attorney
and the current Attorney General
of the state of Iowa
. He first served as the state's Attorney General from 1979 until 1991, when he ran for governor; however, he failed to obtain the Democratic Party's
nomination.
Miller was again elected Attorney General in 1994, and was re-elected in 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010. He is not related to Iowa Deputy Attorney General Thomas Henry Miller. Miller and Iowa State Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald announced an early endorsement of Illinois
