The biggest monument of the town is the Hindu Temple, even bigger than what we think, the temple is raised for Lord Shiva, during Chola dynasty, and currently maintained by State Hindu Religious Board and Kasi Mutt. Kasi Mutt is the another landmark in the town, The Chief Sage is the head of the mutt.
This town has a college (run by Kasi Mutt), called SKSS College of Arts & Science, giving graduate and post graduate education for the nearby city, town and village populations. A variety of courses offered. Schools are there from kindergarten until junior college (or Pre-univ.)

There is a fear amongst many in the village that if this rising tide of puritanism is left unchecked, militant Islam will take root and terrorist ideologies will start flourishing. The result will be catastrophic to not just Muslims in the village but in the surrounding area as well. The authorities are keeping a close watch.

Small Town with big things
Thirupanandal - even though very small to find in the map, its having its own features. Kissed by mother nature, nourished by Hindu Mutt (called Kasi Mutt), and grown by farmers and small business community, having its own water source, food source and other essentials.
