Deiva Thiru. Thinagarasamy Thevar of the Indian National Congress Party was member of the legislative assembly during the Kamaraj period in 1952, and opposed British rule along with Muthuramalinga Thevar. He lived in Keela Urapannur and was called as Periyavur by his fellow villagers. He was born to Deive Thiru. Seniperumal Thevar, deputy superintendent of police, and had two brothers, elder brother Thangaswamy Thevar, and younger brother Veluswamy Thevar. His grandson was also a politician: R.Thangapandian, a deputy secretary of Madurai congress committee and ex-telephone committee member in Madurai.
