History
In 1990, a spirited group of Filipino college students attending the University of California, Irvine conceived a new organization. Ostensibly labeled as "The Dark Boyz" because of their dark skin and Ilocano heritage, they sought a community where brothers and sisters could thrive in a kinship guided by the principles of intellectual awareness, social responsibility, personal integrity, and brotherly love. In May of that same year, these seventeen founding fathers united to create "The Dark Boyz", reclaiming the label as their own. In the spirit of true brotherhood, and in jest, the brothers adopted the first letters of "The Dark Boyz", TDB, and quasi-translated them into the letters Theta, Delta, and Beta, to mimic the traditional Greek fraternal system.What began as a lighthearted attempt to organize a close-knit group of friends quickly grew in popularity and population into an organization spanning four chapters. After its founding in 1990 at Irvine, Theta Delta Beta expanded to Cal State Fullerton in 1991. Three years later, they established themselves in LA in 1994. In 2002 a chapter was created at Long Beach. Most recently, a colony was founded in Pomona in 2008.
From its humble beginnings, Theta has evolved into an organization of the heart. And embedded at its heart is the unconditional love that inspired the seventeen founding fathers to create the brotherhood. The brotherhood has quickly grown into well over a hundred strong and has evolved into a true family. The name, "The Dark Boyz", that our entire family continues to embrace, with its roots and rich history, certainly fits the organization's timeless values and culture.
Theta Delta Beta cultivates and celebrates the intellectual, imaginative and humanitarian promise of each its brothers and lil' sisters in a family that encourages education, practices mutual respect, embraces diversity, and inspires a passion for unconditional love.

On April 20, 2007, Theta Delta Beta along with The Pilipino American Student Association Cal State Fullerton coordinated "Lights, Camera, GK!". A show that featured Camile Velasco

Theta Delta Beta heavily participates in activities for the organization, Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV). They were part of the Organizing Committee for the Justice for Filipino American Veterans march which took place in Historic Filipinotown in Los Angeles as well as being a sponsoring organization.
Events
Theta Delta Beta, as well as throwing its own events, have participated in organizing and hosting EPISODE I, II, and III showcase in 1999, 2000, and 2001 respectively. These showcases featured talents from all over Southern California's Filipino and Asian American Community. After the 2001 Episode Showcase, the organization and hosting of the showcase was later taken over by Events Co. Promotions and has since become an annual event held at various locations including the House of Blues.Theta Delta Beta has also been involved with the running of Cal State Fullerton's Friendship Games. At least three members in the past few years have served as the Pilipino American Student Association (PASA) Friendship Games Coordinator. Friendship Games is an all day event held at Cal State Fullerton with schools from all over representing their SPUF (Spirit, Pride, Unity, and Friendship) while playing several games.
Theta Delta Beta has also been involved with the Filipino and Asian American organizations in the schools which their chapter presides. This includes serving on board and involvement in events (including Pilipino Culture Night, a play with cultural dances mixed in).
In addition, in recent years Theta Delta Beta has actively worked with and led such movements as Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV) march that is held annually in promotion for the veterans receiving their identity as veterans. The march is held in Historic Filipino Town in Los Angeles, CA and is a big staple in the calendar year for all chapters to attend to.
