 34 times. It was the behavior related to this issue while on the school board that led to her being chastised by the board and voted out of office.

In 1996 Obermayer served a thirty-day jail term for disorderly conduct in a federal judge's chambers during a discussion regarding her husband's bar examinations. This issue and the episodes related to it have been the central themes of her campaigns for public office since the early 1990s, including an unsuccessful run against Republican Ted Stevens
