. It rises to 153 feet (46.6 m), featuring 14 floors. The building was completed in 1982 as the Vista International Hotel Washington. At the time, Hilton International was a separate company from Hilton and was legally forbidden from operating hotels in the United States. Vista was their domestic line of hotels. The architect of the building was Holle & Lin Architects PC and Smith-Williams Group. The building serves as a conference center and a hotel.

The hotel became infamous in 1990 when then-Mayor Marion Barry

was arrested on drug charges in a government sting in a room at the hotel.

In 1996 it was converted to The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center, then in 1998 was again renamed The Wyndham Washington D.C., before finally returning to its previous Westin name in 2005.
