The Spikes
Encyclopedia
THE SPIKES are an Irish rock band formed in 2008 who have catapulted themselves to considerable success in a short time through a mixture of hard work, an ear for a 'killer melody' (Metro), an undeniable ability to 'mine a groove' (Hotpress) and a legendary live show that is undoubtedly 'energetic' and 'stylish' (Irish Times).

We Are.. is a brand new EP by THE SPIKES released in Autumn 2009. It boasts three tracks "Super Modern Queen", "Chain Me" and "Betty Ford". Recently recruited producer Mark Reddy who has worked with the likes of James Morrison, has finally given THE SPIKES the fuel that their fire has been craving.

THE SPIKES have already released four singles, racking up chart success, critical acclaim and regular radio airplay. February 2009 saw the release of debut album 'Urges and Purges', a record that won attention from the Irish media, respect from industry mouthpieces and brought reward to the starved fans of THE SPIKES. However, the band felt that the record didn't serve their live sound enough. Hence they have rocketed onwards to arrive at the production of this celebration of 21st century rock.
