restaurants. Former editors-in-chief include Elaine Whitesides and Sherri Coner. The Southside Times sells to many advertisers for $11 apiece, allowing the paper to be available at no cost. Pages each week vary, and usually compose an A and a B section. Senior Pages are also published every three months, highlighting trends, articles, and events for senior citizens.
For the Record - This usually features obituaries.
Opinion - Contains letters to the editor, columnists' views on social trends, holidays, and events, as well as the masthead, featuring a list of people involved at the paper. Columnists include Mike Redmond, Kevin Kane, Sherri Coner, and Carol Michel.
Pets - Published every third Thursday of the month, this section includes articles from veterinarians and brief blurbs from shelters about animals up for adoption.
At Play - Usually contains calendar events for the South Side of Indy, Downtown Indy, Beech Grove, and Greenwood.
Community - Usually contains announcements, such as community projects, high school students' achievements, business endeavors, highway closings, and government meetings.
Wellness - Publishes columns about nutrition and cooking. Contributors include Wendell Fowler, who recently came under fire for publishing two articles filled with misinformation about diabetes. The paper has since come under fire and received numerous calls, comments, and letters from readers.
