The film also employs religious themes that reflect Clark's own experience of leaving and then return to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
. The film reflects some of the difficulties Clark faced when he returned and some members of the church would not accept some of his past indiscretions.
Along with Justin Lyon, Clark developed Signal Films, a production company for the film and future projects.

and Las Vegas
