Description
At entrance level there is the box office and gallery, the 2nd floor mezzanine also has gallery space and is the main entrance to the auditorium which is housed on the two floors below. This auditorium has seating for 205 people when using the provided seating. The seating can be retracted (via a mechanical system) to provide practice or performance space. On the lower floor is a bar and a studio space. This space is used independently of the main auditorium for the performance of smaller, more intimate shows. This can seat up to 40 people. The theatre has wheel chair access to all floors via a lift from the ground level.The theatre is currently run by Karen Carleton. Technical Manager is Barry Donaldson. Aoife O'Toole is Box Office and Gallery Manager. Lizz Kinch is Marketing and Front of House Manager.
Stage
In addition to the performance spaces there are dressing rooms and backstage areas. There is one wing on stage left with only a small amount of walking space provided on stage right. However there is a cross over allowing access to both sides. The stage entrance is from the underground carpark and therefore there are restrictions on the size and dimensions of the vehicles that gain access to this door.There is a studio space for smaller performances which seats 40 people.
Exhibitions
The Mill Theatre also has space for exhibiting visual arts.Previous exhibitors have included Andrew Carroll, Anne McManus, Bernadette Heenan and Kelly Hood.
