. Tamzin and Rissa are joined for the first time by Meryon Fairbrass and his friend, Roger Lambert. Together they set out to solve the mystery of the ghostly horse which is said to race along the Dunsford Bay shoreline.
They also collect junk to barter for a horse as a birthday present for Diccon (Tamzin's young brother). The four of them become involved in the Winklesea pageant.
