Later, the investigation involved the former French Prime Minister
(and later President) Georges Pompidou after a few press articles and a testimony of Borivoj Ackov. He testified that he was present at parties with the wife of Pompidou, Stevan Markovic and Alain Delon.

After becoming President of the Republic, he named Alexandre de Marenches as the head of the SDECE in order to reform it.
