Early years

The Latency originally consisted of Brandon Lehti (vocals), Ryan Stead (guitar), and Mathew Gendron (bass). Stead and Gendron approached Lehti about starting The Latency after their previous band disbanded. They were attracted to the singer's impressive vocal skills while playing a local show together in 2006. They continued in this form, with Lehti on drums, for a couple months until guitarist, Ryan Stead met up with Tommy Mac, bassist of multi-platinum recording group Hedley
