charted tracks featured, two make their album debut in this compilation: "Dead End Street" and "Mr. Pleasant".
In 2003, the album was ranked number 231 on Rolling Stone
magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time
. It was compiled and released by Reprise Records
(without creative input from the Kinks) after the band had moved to RCA Records
in 1971.
