. It was founded in New York City
in 1962 by Harvey Sollberger
and Charles Wuorinen
and was in residence at Columbia University

The group released a number of recordings on the Composers Recordings, Inc.
label and later on Koch International Classics and Naxos Records. It performed new and classic works by composers including Sollberger, Wuorinen, Mario Davidovsky
