George Gallup, creator of the Gallup poll, served as editor of The Daily Iowan in the early 1920s. The newspaper's publisher is William Casey, who has served in the post since 1976. Criticism

Like many other newspapers, the Daily Iowan publishes detailed arrest records. The records then become easily accessible from search engines. Although police blotters are removed from the website a month after they are posted, cached google images of the listings may remain online permanently.
