Prosecution of director Remzi Aydın Jöntürk

As a result of some of the politically charged lines in his Adam Trilogy movies, in 1981 Remzi Aydın Jöntürk was falsely prosecuted for promoting Communism (Komunizm Propagandasi) by the infamous State Security Court established by the 1980 Turkish coup d'état of then dictator, General Kenan Evren. However, unlike some of the other left wing artists of the time, Jöntürk had refused to flee to Western Europe following the coup, and faced the military courts. In 1985, following Turkey's return to democracy, the charges were dismissed.
