In the 2006 Census of Population and Housing, Teven is represented as a State suburb (SSC 19019).

In 2006 there were approximately 595 usual residents living in Tintenbar. Of this count, 298 (or 50%) were males and 297 (or 50%) were females. The median age for persons living in Tintenbar was 44 years. By age, 19% of the population were under 15 years old, 68% were between 15 and 65, and 12% were over 65 years old.

Most people living in Tintenbar were born in Australia (85%).
