Tetley is a hamlet and suburb of the town of Crowle in the North Lincolnshire
district of Lincolnshire
, England.
The hamlet is considered a deserted medieval village
and is known to have existed in 1316.
Tetley Hall is a grade II listed building dating from 1829-39 for Henry Lister Maw, although the range to the right is late 18th century, and built for George Stovin (later Lister).
The stables and granary are also grade II listed and were built in
1787 for George Stovin with an early 19th century addition.
Near Tetley Hall is a limestone font
which is probably mid 17th century. It reputedly came from the Protestant church in Sandtoft, which was founded in the mid 17th century by the Dutch drainers. Local commoners vandalised the church in 1651 and 1656, after which it presumably returned to use, but by 1686 it was in ruins. it was presumably retrieved by one of the Stovin family, likely George Stovin the antiquary (1696–1780) who probably inscribed the dates.
