Tepeji is a city and one of the 84 municipalities of Hidalgo
, in central-eastern Mexico
. The municipality covers an area of 393.4 km².
Tepeji del rio has many industry complex that contain companies as a procter and gamble, kaltex, arteche, zaga (vicky form) citsa ppg (automotive windshield company) pilgrims pride (chicken) etc.
Also over the requena lake, some investors are constructing a golf course call amanali where a numerous houses and apartment building will be available to live.
There is also a plaza which has a supermarket, a gasoline stop, a movie theater, and many other shops.
As of 2005, the municipality had a total population of 69,755.
