Tepalcatepec is a town in Michoacán

, located north of Canollita.
It is the endemic environment of Michoacan Club-tail iguana (Ctenosaura clarki). The habitat of this species is dry, hot, cactus covered rocky hillsides.
About 50 miles south of Uruapan on the road to Playa Azul.
Forms the Infiernillo Lake. Over 60 miles in length. Fed by the Balsas and Tepalcatepec Rivers.
